Foreclosed Condos For Sale
Foreclosed Condos For Sale

Question: HOA is putting a lien on my condo?
I was no longer able to afford my condominium. It is on the market for short sale and there is a good chance it will foreclose due to the condition of the property. The HOA has not done their work, such as upkeeping the pool, landscaping, structural repair, etc. They are sending letters to pay up or there will be a lien on the property. I am no longer residing there due to the filth and unsightliness of the exterior. Will a lien prevent me from selling the property? What does this all mean>

Answer: The lien will be paid off at closing, and if there isn't enough money from the short sale, they will come after you.
If an association is mismanaged, don't buy there! And if people don't pay their fees, where do you expect the money for the work to come from???
I'm always amazed when people say how filthy and unsightly a place is, yet that never seems to stop anyone from buying or renting in the first place.
