Va Foreclosed Homes
Question: Can someone who received a VA loan to purchase a home that was awarded to the ex-wife in a divorce get another
loan to purchase another home? The previous house was foreclosed on about 5 years ago.
She lost the home after the divorce.>
Answer: He needs to get a new Certificate Of Eligibility to show eligibility is reinstated. This COE does not constitute any kind of loan approval though...please keep that in mind The time required since the foreclosure has passed to potentially qualify but this depends on the rest of the credit here too A previous answer was right that a veteran can only have one VA loan at a time but, if house was sold through forecl that loan should be released and the new COE should reflect that. The details of the foreclosure should be fully disclosed on the VA Debt Questionnaire form with supporting documentation provided (divorce decree, etc.)
