Question: how do I find out information about an abandoned house in Pasco County, Florida?
We want to buy a house that has been abandoned but can't find out who owns it. We have found the original owner's info online but there is no contact info, or which bank owns it if it has gone into foreclosure. We are wondering if the bank that owns it has gone out of business, what would happen to the house then? Can't find Yahoo Answers in America!
the property taxes haven't been paid for the past year and a half>
Answer: The tax assessor will know who owns it. You are on your own to contact them, they have no obligation to tell you how to reach them. You can obtain bank information, but unless the bank owns it they can't legally tell you anything either.
It does not sound like this is abandoned, only vacant. Abandoned property ends up belonging to the state, which sells it.

Question: What happens towards the end of a foreclosure?
I've had a condo for about 3 years, 2 of which I haven't paid for, after 2 years they finally found the original note and sent a letter saying they were going to show it to a judge some time in mid Nov. One month later and I haven't received any letters stating the outcome of that matter. I'm pretty sure they didn't lie to me about having the original...I just thought by now I would of heard something...I have received more calls than usual from the lender ( 2 more calls), but my lawyer always told me to ignore them and now he's no where to be found!!!
How's the last days of a foreclosre? Do they mail you a letter stating an eviction? Is there alot of paperwork to sign off on? How long do they give you to move out? BTW, its in Florida. Thanks in advance!

Answer: When I was foreclosed on, there was just an official letter saying the property was sold, on what date, and that was that. I suggest if you have anything to get out of there, do it sooner than later. I did not sign anything. But because my ex procrastinated, our things were stolen, and we only got some of our things. So while you can, start packing and moving.

Question: Is it Illegal to Collect rent on a property that is in foreclosure?
I am a landlord for a trailer park. The property is in foreclosure. The property is owned by a development company. There is attorney calling me and telling me I cannot collect rent b/c of the foreclosure or they will take me to jail. Yet my boss tells me to keep collecting... What should I do? Is the attorney trying to bully me into giving the bank money behind my bosses back? Or am I really in danger of going to jail?
Fyi this is in the state of Florida

Answer: Can the bank come up with an assignment of rents or a rent execution order? If they can, then you will have to hand over the money to them.
As a landlord, don't you have an attorney you could speak with?
P.S. There is a document called an assignment that allows a lender to collect rents from the tenants of a borrower in default. There doesn't need to be an actual foreclosure, just a default, for this to kick in. This document assigns the tenants leases and rents to the lender without exception if the borrow defaults. Most investment property loans have this. If the lender for some reason doesn't have this, then the landlord gets the money up until an actual foreclosure ... unless there is a court order that says otherwise.
