Question: Where do i find foreclosure listings for free?

Please don't refer me to somewhere with a free "trial membership".

>

Answer: Any Realtor can supply a list of foreclosure listings for free.

After properties are foreclosed on, they're owned by the lender. When the lender decides to sell, it lists the property with a Realtor. The property is put into the multiple listing service, where any other Realtor can find it.

In most areas, Realtors can set up an automatic notification service for you. Every time a new foreclosure comes on the market, you'll get an automatically generated e-mail with all the information.

Again: Totally free.

Question: Where can I find tax foreclosure listings in PA?

I heard you can buy houses for under $1000. Is this true, and if so, where can I find free listings in my area?

>

Answer: Theoretically true, as a practical matter not true. Each county tax collector should have a list of tax defaulted properties that are going up for auction. Don't count on getting a house for $1,000 when you are bidding against other bottom feeders.
